he journey of a thousand miles begins with one step is an often quoted saying by Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu. Many

people do not realize that each step is in a unique way its own journey. It is a journey with its own adventures being shared in each unfolding now moment. The journey is by far more than simply taking the necessary steps to get to a destination; it is the experience of each step. Many people seem to miss the experience in their hurried desire to get the job done. It seems challenging for most of us to simply be and experience all of our experiences along the journey.

This edition of Pathways will

highlight recent steps that ten AIHT graduates took to become ordained reverends. These individuals from various locations, backgrounds, and interests were all brought together under one roof and in one spirit to celebrate this part of their journey to be ordained to serve.

On October 2, 2011 in Stony Point New York, our

beloved Beverly Love and Michael Parker along with ten AIHT graduates attended A World Alliance of Interfaith Clergy (AWAIC) conference and ordination services. The first was our very own AIHT ordination ceremony which occurred on Saturday evening and was followed on Sunday afternoon with a

co-ordination with The Order of Universal Interfaith (OUnI). It was also during the Sunday ordination that the Community of Holistic Theology (CHTh) was blessed into existence. Several of the newly ordained AIHT reverends were also co-ordained by OUnI and joined the CHTh community.

The conference participants as tep...

well as each of the AIHT graduates at this weekends event agree it was one that will send lasting ripples of service into the great expansive universe. As you read each of the articles from the ordained graduates, take note of your own journey and of the times when you’re internal GPS (God’s Partnering Signals) has been guiding you. Though you cannot see where you are going; you trust that

still small voice will get you there. You understand what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. meant when he said, “Faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase.” You trust and take the step in faith that your GPS is leading you to your true north; to that place where you are living according to your passion and living a life of purpose in service to mankind.

The journey continues just as one chapter ends

a new chapter begins and as one book closes a new one is opened. . . —Reverend Dr. Raymont Anderson
