La Soiree – A Night of Pure Indulgence! Fancy starting the festive period with a bang? Then how about a night at the circus! Yes, you heard me right, the circus is in town and this time it’s bigger and better than ever before.
At a venue that oozes awesome, The Roundhouse in Camden plays host to the cast of La Soiree, an alternative kind of circus. With the outside looking like any music venue in London, the inside has been transformed into a Big Top, with deep red fabric cascading from the rafters to create the perfect sensual ambience for the show full of frivolity and madness.
A quick dash to the bar (sneakily hidden behind those circus curtains) and it’s on with the show! And this certainly isn’t any ordinary show. There are no big- nosed, clumsy-footed clowns in this line up. No, this is a circus of far classier, far more elegant, and far more awe-inspir- ing acts. With the right mix of theatrics, comedy, and acrobatics, La Soiree does not disappoint. Take Mario: Queen of the Circus for instance, being the incarnate of Freddie Mercury allows the rock anthems of Queen to boom around the auditorium proudly, with the audience unable to help themselves from tapping their feet and clapping their hands in the air. His hilarious act is brimming with campness and comedy, hell – the guy can even do a trick or two (yes, he did balance a member of the crowd on his shoulders whilst he rode around the stage on a unicycle!) and he certainly knows how to stage dive!
If you like variety spicing up your life, then this is undoubtedly the show for you. The beautiful voice of Le Gateau Chocolat leads us on a journey of mystery and mayhem as he serenades us through show-stopping, jaw-dropping performances by Yulia Pykhtina; the exotic beauty who knows how to spin a hoola hoop or two, Hugo Desmarais and Katherine Arnold; the sensual duo who swing from The Cage whilst suspended high above the stage
in a passionate routine that is simply death-defying, and Chris and Iris, the cutest duo whose acrobatics are purely spellbinding.
This circus is an ensemble of oddballs and eccentrics – there are jugglers, knife throwers, roller-skaters, gymnasts, mimes, singers, comediennes, and English Gents - the perfect balance for the perfect circus.
La Soiree - tradition with a twist. And it’s that twist that makes this show an un-missable event. So, if you like your entertainment to glitter with adult humour and festive fun, then roll up, roll up and escape to the circus!
