Heather Hitchens Leaves NYSCA for the American Theatre Wing
The American Theatre Wing announced that Heather Hitchens has been appointed as the organization’s next Executive Director, and will begin her tenure on July 5. Hitchens most recently served as Executive Director of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA).

The Steffi Nossen School/Dance in Education Fund has received a $5,000 grant from Macy’s, which will allow the school to expand a variety of outreach pro- grams. One such program that will benefit is “Moving Wheels & Heels,” which allows children and adults with a wide range of disabilities the opportunity to enjoy dance classes usually available only to the non- disabled. The grant will also help bring the benefits of dance education to inner-city youth attending recre- ation centers in their neighborhoods, and to individu- als whose dance education requires financial aid. Caramoor Announces New Chairman James Atwood
Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts has announced that Judy Evnin has stepped down as Chairman of the Board of Trustees in April to become Caramoor’s Chairman Emerita. Evnin’s successor is James A. Attwood, Jr., a resident of Bedford, NY, and Managing Director at The Carlyle Group.
“I look forward to working with Michael and his excellent staff on enhancing Caramoor’s role as a treasure of the New York community,” said Atwood. “I’m especially looking forward to our summer season of great concerts beginning on June 25.”

You can “travel the world” without leaving Westchester by attending the many cultural heritage festivals taking place in local parks this spring and summer. A series of ten festivals will run from May 21 through August 7, each showcasing a culture that spans the world. This month features an Albanian festival on June 5 and an African-American festival on June 26, both 12pm- 7pm at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla. Admission and parking for all festivals are free. Inkwell Announces High School Poetry Scholarships
Inkwell journal of Manhattanville College has announced a high school poetry scholarship opportunity for current high school seniors in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut. Submitted poems must be no more than 70 lines long and previously unpublished. The young poet who receives 1st place will be awarded $1,000, 2nd place will receive $500 and 3rd place $250. All winning poems will also be published in Inkwell. The judging period ends June 30. For more info, visit www.

It was recently announced that Jazz Forum Arts in Dobbs Ferry and the Katonah Museum of Art have received 2011 grants awards from the National Endowment on the Arts (NEA). Jazz Forum Arts received a $20,000 grant to support a series of radio programs based on the Piano Summit performances at Jazz at Lincoln Center. The Katonah Museum was awarded an $80,000 grant to support the touring exhi- bition Double Solitaire: The Surrealist World of Kay Sage (1898-1963) and Yves Tanguy (1900-55), which will include approximately 25 works by each artist, some of which have never before been exhibited.

Collegium Westchester’s Chorus and Orchestra will present a concert entitled “Glory and Nature” on Saturday, June 11 at 8pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Ossining. The program, conducted by Collegium music director Eric Kramer, will fea- ture Sibelius’s Humoresques Op.89 for Violin and Orchestra, Poulenc’s Gloria for Chorus and Orchestra, Vaughan Williams’s The Lark Ascending, and Mozart's Symphony 32.
