CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH 2011
Signs of Christmas are fast appearing in the shops and supermarkets and if the thought of being on your own this year fills you with dread - then why not come along to the CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH held at Tavistock United Reformed Church in Russell Street? This will be the 6th year that volunteers from the town have come together to put on a lunch & entertainment for anyone who doesn’t want to spend Christmas Day on their own.
Transport can be provided and a traditional turkey lunch with Christmas pudding is served. This would not be possible without the generosity of businesses, groups and individuals who donate food and/or money - as well as the many volunteers who give up their time to come and set up, prepare, cook, drive, serve, wash up, entertain and clear away !
The day starts at 11.30am - following the 10am Christmas morning service to which all are welcome - and finishes at 3.45pm. There is no charge but volunteers and guests MUST REGISTER their intention to come - even if you have been before!
Any financial donations should be made by cheque payable to “CHRISTMAS DAY APPEAL” and sent to 1 Maple Close Tavistock PL19 9LL. Thank you.
