NEWS TAKE PART IN SPORTRELIEF
England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales will compete in a four nations challenge as part of Sport Relief next year. Sports people and celebrities will run, row, cycle and sail their way around the UK and
Ireland.They will race over 1000 miles over seven days from 10th-17th March 2012. You have a chance to be involved, as on Sunday 25th March, four thousand members of the public will represent their country and will run the final six miles to the finish. The teams will start the race from their capital cities and will head off clockwise around the UK and Ireland as they battle their way to be the first nation home. To take part visit

n 4 December 2011 RNLI Reindeer Run
www.rnli.org.uk/reindeer 10K or 5K run with lots of festive fun, reindeer antlers and flashing noses for all runners and something tasty to refuel you when you cross the finish line.

n 17 December 2011 Christmas Pudding Dash
www.nice-work.org.uk This multi-terrain 5 mile race takes place through the grounds of Ashburnham Place. There are Christmas puds and a glass of warming mulled wine at the finish.
n 24 December 2011 Rudolf Red Nose 5 Mile
www.spectrumstriders.org.uk A flat 5 mile run which is 90% trail. The goody bag contains wine, can of beer and a mince pie! Sweatshop voucher to the value of £500 for the winner. Fancy dress is optional, but very welcome!
n 26 December 2011 Saltwood Boxing Day Run
www.boxingdayrun.org.uk Started by villagers as a casual event to help blow away the cobwebs and hangovers of Christmas. The course is less than 3 miles but hilly, tough and often muddy.
n 31 December 2011 The Gut Buster 10K
www.2mevents.com A new event for 2011 that will close this year’s racing calendar. What better way to rid yourself of the excesses of Christmas and to righteously prepare for a New Year. Choose 10K or 10 miles over a beautiful multi terrain course. Mulled wine, mince pies and medal to every finisher.
GET HOT AND STICKY IN CHINA
If you are looking for an ultimate challenge next year how about a 250km race over 6 days in the Gobi Desert on 1st-17th June 2012? Located in the Xinjiang Province, the hottest place in China and the most distant point from an ocean in the world, it’s a tough, fully self-supported challenge across the desert.
