Malcolm’s car is a classic winner

THIS 1934 Lagonda, pictured crossing Teston Bridge, was the pick of 41 beautifully pre- served vehicles taking part in the Blackpalfrey Motor Club of Kent’s annual tour. The convoy of classic cars started and finished the day at TheMoat,Wrotham, with stops formorning coffee and lunch at Tenterden railway and Bewl reservoir. The Maidstone-based club

was formed in 1965 by a group of rally enthusiasts. Its name is an amalgamation of two former car clubs, the BlackHorse (Tun- bridge Wells pub) and William Palfrey (Rochester en- gineering company). Malcolm Jones, from East Peckham, owner of the 75-year- old Lagonda, won the concours award.
