REGISTRATION SERVICES

East Renfrewshire’s registration service can make your special day even better whether you’re planning a marriage, civil partnership, a naming ceremony or renewal of vows.

From traditional and intimate registry offices, to the grand surroundings of Eastwood House, we have the perfect choice for your event.

To make sure your day goes exactly the way you want it, we provide a flexible approach to your individual requirements.

We can help you tailor your ceremony, right down to the finest details such as the piece of music you’ll make your entrance to, and the readings or poems you would like as part of your ceremony.

East Renfrewshire was the first council in Scotland where you can say “I do” any day of the year. That includes Sundays, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and public holidays.

We will offer you a pre-marriage or civil partnership meeting to ease those pre-event nerves and to make sure everything runs smoothly on the day.

Whatever kind of day you’re planning, we have the expertise to make it really special.

OUR CEREMONY SUITE IN EAST RENFREWSHIRE

In Eastwood Park, close to historic Eastwood House, attached to the council headquarters, is the Giffnock suite. A favourite with local couples, and many others from across the west of Scotland, we offer traditional elegance and warmth. And like Eastwood House it offers excellent opportunities for your photographs in Eastwood Park.

THE TIME OF YOUR CEREMONY

We understand that your wedding/civil partnership ceremony running to schedule is important to you. It is also important to us and we ask everyone to bear in mind that there may be several ceremonies planned on the same day as theirs.

If ceremonies are running late, there is a chance they may have to be postponed, to avoid a knock-on effect to other ceremonies.

To help things run smoothly, we advise that guests should arrive 10 minutes before the ceremony starts.

This should leave sufficient time for photographs to be taken before the ceremony, and allow guests of a previous ceremony to leave (this can be discussed at the pre-meeting).

It would be helpful to the registrar, if photographers could check the timescale of the ceremony with them, to make sure that the ceremony, and time set aside for taking photographs are both co-ordinated.
