Choosing the venue for your special day is probably one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make. Whether it is a quiet intimate gathering, renewing vows, a naming ceremony or a traditional wedding celebration we at East Renfrewshire Council have the perfect venue for you.
Eastwood House, a stunning 19th Century mansion house set in Eastwood Park, is our most popular venue for all types of special events from christening parties and bar mitzvahs to wedding celebrations.
Eastwood House was built in 1850 and is steeped in history. In the early 1900s Eastwood House belonged to Viscount Weir who described it as "a solid, Victorian mansion, not over large, opulent without ostentation". Viscount Weir had many famous visitors there including Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin and King George V and Queen Mary to mention but a few.
In Eastwood Park, close to Eastwood House, attached to the council headquarters, is the Giffnock Marriage Suite, a favourite with local couples who prefer a more intimate ceremony.
The picturesque setting of Eastwood Park will provide wonderful photographic opportunities to enjoy for many years to come.
