GUGGENHEIM DINING
The restaurant in the Guggenheim is the first addition to the inte- rior and at 1,600 sq ft, it acts as a contemporary reflection of the building itself, created on a modest budget. The Wright is an ex- traordinary example of where architecture meets interior design. Designer Andre Kikoski: “Our design solution references the build- ing’s architecture without repeating it. In the process, we trans- form underlying architectural geometries into dynamic spatial effects. The sculptural forms create a flared ceiling. The surfaces and textures embody movement, creating an ever-changing aes- thetic that is enlivened with subtle layers of illumination and glow- ing tiers of light that envelope the room. The space achieves an elegant and dynamic setting for dining that both celebrates the museum and transcends it, and is often referred to as “a gem in the Guggenheim.”
