Carl Logan began his solo electronica project in 2009, using a beaten up old laptop, which resulted in these stampeding, menacing tracks that go straight for that arterial vein in your jugular. There’s no messing about with too many sounds, instead picking an approach, a ricocheting

POSTDROME
More drone-related sonics, this time from Postdrome who takes a more clear approach to filling the tonal spectrum. At times sounding more like impulsive movie scores, Charlie Floyd has the whole ambient and dynamics clash down to a tee. His latest album, Never Without, uses itchy glitches and endlessly sustaining sounds to lull you into intrigue before ramping up the menace. This is especially potent on Rivers. But crucially, he doesn’t overuse an idea, keeping each track short and self-contained.
