A Timeless Design
This Lazy River home was designed by Benson Ford and built by Kenneth Franzheim II for himself (approx. 1967- 68) and renovated in 2009. When combined properly, space, light and order create a timeless design.
Green Tree :: 61314004 Tanglewood Area/ Lazy River, $3.85 Million
Te front entry of this Lazy River/Tanglewood area home beckons and welcomes guests even before they reach the front door. Te ascending steps, the symmetry of the statues, lights and planters, and the spacious alcove leading to the magnificent door create a sense of order, depth and space. While grand, the space is very inviting.
Flanked by beautifully lit interior spaces, an intriguing central courtyard opens and extends the living areas. Several steps running the length of the outdoor area lead down into the courtyard,
further defining its
space. Te water feature’s grandeur gives the space a focal point and balance.
Te splendor of the outside elements is continued
throughout the home. Te music room is defined by varied ceiling and floor heights. Te railing gives symmetry and order to the room, but does not detract from the openness and view from the gallery.
Spaces throughout the home are unified by Bordeaux- patterned hardwoods, ivory-toned walls and rectangular shapes in the architecture and decor. Across the courtyard from the music room is a dramatic two- story library with balconies. Well-placed and numerous windows illuminate a series of atrium-like spaces.
Te gated compound is complete with a wine cellar, two-story guest house, quarters, cabana, pool, spa and summer kitchen.
