shows, exhibitions, fine food and excellent entertainment.
The top working ranch horses from western Canada, four years and older, will compete in the Ranch Horse Competition for cash prizes, a Champion Buckle and the title of Ranch Horse Champion. Northern Bloodstock, The Canadian Supreme, and The Alberta Quarter Horse Breeders Group have joined forces to gather bloodstock from across Canada for a new performance horse auction to be held on Thursday November 10. The expo
will also feature horses in the Heritage Ranch Rodeo that will take place Sunday, November 6 to Tuesday, November 8. In conjunction with the team at Northlands, this industry initiative capitalizes on the growing number of ranch, rodeo and performance horse enthusiasts that visit Northlands each year for Farmfair and the Canadian Finals Rodeo.
Also this year, in a unique collaboration between the Northlands Farmfair, Olds Fall Classic and Lloydminster Stockade
Round-Up, the three organizations will co-host the Alberta Supreme Championship, where the provincial champions will be decided. This intense and often dramatic event typically attracts top quality purebred cattle from across Western Canada,” says Richard L. Andersen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Northlands. “As one of Canada’s largest and oldest established agricultural societies, Northlands is proud to host a show that will increase the exposure of all three successful events.”
