Johnson added that she

is working on casting with agents Kerry Barden and Paul Schnee, who also cast Johnson’s Return. Dylan Sellers is producing the film. The di rec tor al so

Eddie Marsan plans move behind camera

BY SARAH COOPER UK actor Eddie Marsan (who stars in TIFF selection Tyrannosaur) will direct his first feature, Pell Mell, for Warp Films. Marsan has written the

script for Pell Mell, which he describes as “Shakespeare’s Richard III set in 1960s London”. He is also set to star. The feature will be pro- duced by Peter Carlton and Robin Gutch for Warp Films along with independ- ent producer Laura Hast- ings-Smith (Hunger). Marsan told Screen he was “very excited” about

making the move into directing, adding it was regular collaborator Mike Leigh, for whom Marsan starred in Vera Drake and Happy-Go-Lucky, who encouraged him to get behind the camera. Carlton said: “It is early

days in terms of being at the start of the financing and casting process but we think Eddie has a brilliant vision for the film.” Production is planned for

2012. Meanwhile Marsan is
