After completing studies in Madrid, Daniel Mitulescu initially worked for Spanish broadcaster Antena 3 before becoming a production assistant on his brother Catalin‘s short Traffic. Catalin‘s feature debut The Way I Spent The End Of The World, which premiered in Un Certain Regard in 2006, was Daniel‘s first feature film as producer. He followed this with Florin Serban‘s Silver Bear-winning If I Want To Whistle, I Whistle and his brother‘s second feature Loverboy which screened in Un Certain Regard this year. Daniel also runs the distribution company Metropolis Film which has released Strada Film‘s productions and also produces commercials.

A graduate from Prague‘s FAMU, Karla Stojakova co-founded Axman Production with Ivana Axmanová in 2000. She made her first foray into producing feature films with Julius Ševčík‘s Restart in 2005 and has also co- produced successful festival films by Lilja Ingolfsdottir, Grimur Hakonarson, and Jeanne Rektorik. In 2009, her production of Ševčík‘s Normal – The Düsseldorf Ripper won the Best Director Award in Shanghai. In addition, Karla has line-produced for Korean feature films, TV drama and music videos and provided film services for foreign productions shooting in the Czech Republic. Karla is the co-founder of the FILMASIA festival in Prague.
Joseph Berger Pitchstream Media Toronto, Canada
Joseph Berger began his motion picture career at Intercontinental Film Canada, Montreal in 1990 where he worked on one of the first ever Canadian-Romanian co-
productions, among others. In 1994, he moved to Toronto and worked at Bob Schulz Productions where he was instrumental in creating a series of Canadian-European feature film co-productions. These projects took him to Budapest where he later set up his own production company, Mythberg Films Ltd., in 2000, to produce more than ten feature and made-for-TV films. Joseph is now resettling in Toronto and has started a film production company, Pitchstream Media Inc., with partner George Rethy.

With one foot on each side of the Atlantic, Michael A. Dobbin takes pride in bringing Canada and Europe together. Recent titles he has produced or co-produced include films by Boris Rodriguez, Endre Hules, Toni Harman and David Chernushenko. Michael has worked with one of Europe’s top script development agencies, Arista Development, and was mentored by the BAFTA-winning producer Leslee Udwin. He is an alumnus of Ryerson University and founded the ‘Just Watch Me!’ Berlin Screening Room with the Canadian Embassy. As a story editor, script doctor and lecturer, Michael is in steady demand on both sides of the Atlantic.
