Cher Hawrysh is an award-winning producer with strong creative and business acumen. A graduate of the Canadian Film Centre and the UCLA Professional Program in Producing, she has ten years experience as a producer and business affairs executive playing key roles in development, financing, production and distribution of independent films. Cher lives and works in Toronto, spends time in LA and New York, and frequently attends markets and festivals around the globe. She is currently co-producing The Colony, a post-apocalyptic sci-fi feature in pre-production.


Having worked together successfully for five years on such films as the Silver Leopard winner Pleasant Days, director Kornel Mundruczó and producer Viktória Petrányi set up their Budapest-based production company Proton Cinema in 2003. The co-founders, who not only produce and direct, but also co- write their projects, have worked on successful features as the FIPRESCI Award winner Delta. Viktória is now developing new feature projects by Mundruczó and Adam Csaszi. In addition, Proton Cinema has recently launched its production services department and already handled projects by Erik de Bruyn and Alexander Eik, among others.

Byron A. Martin is an independent fi lm/ television producer based in Toronto. To date, he has produced almost 30 hours of television, shooting projects in Canada, the US, Israel, China, Honduras, Brazil, India, Panama, Hungary and the UK. His feature credits range from studio franchises to independent projects with such directors as Joe Nussbaum, Andrew Waller, and Dana


Lustig. Byron is currently in post-production on the feature documentary The Carbon Rush, a fi lm about the severe impact of carbon trading on communities around the world and has a number of projects in development, including an animated 3D feature and a horror thriller.

Stella Nwimo began her filmmaking career working in commercials and music videos before moving into production management and line producing for television. Her first film as a producer, the short Is It The Design On The Wrapper? won the Golden Palm at Cannes in 1997. In 1999, Stella set up the production company Riverchild Films to develop work with new and emerging filmmakers, co-producing, among other things, Paul Cotter‘s award-winning Jeff Farnsworth. She subsequently became an in-house producer at Stealth Films where she produced films with Menhaj Huda and Hammad Khan, and is now developing two features at the fledgling production outfit Northpoint Pictures.
