East Lothian is one of the most picturesque areas of Scotland. Rich in history, the past is kept alive with rugged castles, historic market towns and the remains of ancient settlements.

Charming towns and villages invite you to browse in galleries, museums and gift shops. You can discover lots about Scottish history in our castles, churches and grand country houses.

For those who like to get out and about our coast provides excellent watersports facilities – guaranteed to meet the needs of those seeking thrills and spills! For a more leisurely pursuit we have some great walks including The John Muir Way and The North Sea Trail. If cycling is your thing there are excellent cycle routes all across the area.
