Green Source DFW Makes Environmentally Responsibility Easy
G
reen Source DFW is a new Internet resource covering the DFW and surround- ing North Texas region to promote green living, sustainable practices, nonprofit
environmental organizations and eco-friendly green businesses in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Their cutting-edge web- si te provides a Green Business Directory, a Green issues Forum and articles about DFW area people and happenings of interest to those pursuing environmentally responsible lifestyles. Find up-to-date information about a green event, an organic restaurant, a com-
munity garden or just a quiet place to watch birds among hundreds of events at the Green Source DFW, along with articles about artists, activists and local environmental controversies. Greensource DFW is a project of the nonprofit Memnosyne Foundation, with a
mission to help the diverse people of the world consciously encourage an evolution for themselves and for future generations, by providing mankind with the means to encourage positive, peaceful global collaboration in all areas of knowledge. Green Source DFW encompasses one of the seven centers around which Memnosyne is organized.
“Memnosyne created Green Source DFW to advance the Green Movement in
Dallas/Fort Worth. The website is built to be a central communication point for people committed to change the world. I encourage everyone to participate fully and learn from each other,” says Mary Ann Thompson-Frenk, Memnosyne Foundation founder.

Gluten & Allergen Free Expo Coming to DFW A
Gluten and Allergen-Free Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., October 1 and 2, at the Westin Park Central, in Dallas, bringing in some of the country’s
best-selling cookbook authors, leading chefs and noted special needs nutrition and health experts to show people how to prepare great tasting, healthy meals and baked goods without gluten and some other of the most common allergens. The Expo features gluten-
free cooking and baking classes and samples of gluten-free prod-
ucts from more than 80 vendors. The cooking demonstrations by top chefs will ac- commodate both amateur and more experienced chefs. A special area within the exhibit features nut-free products and an allergen-free arts and crafts area for kids. “Living on a restricted diet doesn’t have to mean living without the joy of cook-
ing, baking and eating foods that look and taste great,” says Jen Cafferty, founder of the Expo. A portion of the event proceeds will benefit the Gluten Intolerance Group Lone Star Celiac Support Group (
DFW.celiac.org).
