My wife and I recently went to Sodwana Bay. Te trip was advertised two months prior, but we only decided on the Tuesday that we’d go dive, and travelled down on the Tursday. It took us 11 hours to get to Sodwana – apparently there’s a quicker route but nobody told us. Tey nagged and nagged, so we paid the money like they asked. Tey asked what gear we needed. Duh! Dive gear! So we got to Sodwana

Bay eventually. We had to pay an additional R20 per person at the main gate to get in because we didn’t have a Gold Rhino Card. We paid for the trip already! Aſterwards we heard it was separate fees, but nobody told us. Eventually we rock up at

Wilhelm (Instructor/DM), Marna (my wife), Janet (Manager of Pro Dive Plett), Tom (Instructor/DM) and Greg (a very satisfied diver).

WINNING LETTER! A great experience in

Plett

I would like to spread the word about a fantastic dive experience available right here in South Africa. I was lucky enough to spend some time in beautiful Pletenberg Bay and managed to get in a few dives. Te dives I did were all walk-in shore dives and added a new dimension to my scuba experience. With fantastic soſt and hard coral reefs you really get the feeling of being in an undersea garden. We also saw plenty shy sharks, octopus, crabs and red romans amongst other reef fish. If you are lucky

enough the dolphins will come join your dive as well. We even had an opportunity to do a night dive and experience the difference of a reef when diving it in the day and then diving it again in the dark of night. Tere are also opportunities to go out to sea and dive with seals on other great reefs. Tere are many occasions when a whale will come into the bay as well. Tis experience was all

made very special due to the fantastic service supplied by Janet of Pro-Dive Plet and her team of DM/instructors, Tom and Wilhelm, and then assisted by Kalulah in the shop and with the dive bookings. We were treated as

if we were VIPs and they went out of their way to accommodate us in any way they could. Tey supply a service that is very diver friendly, but at the same time one that is very professional. I want to thank them all for a very special week of diving and can recommend that all divers visit them for a new, exciting diving experience. If for some reason you do not get to dive or want to take a break, then there are a number or atractions nearby that you can visit; Tenikwa Cheetah Farm, Monkey Land and Birds of Eden, or you can even go bungee of the highest bungee bridge in the world! Write to us and win a Mares LiquidSkin Mask

If you have any words of wisdom, a gripe or songs of praise you would like to share with the Divestyle team and other divers, send an email to My Log Book at editor@divestyle.co.za. Please keep letters to 200 words – they have more impact when they are short and sweet (or bittersweet) anyway. The winning letter will receive a Mares LiquidSkin Mask with a combination of two different types of silicone provide incomparable comfort. The marks that are typically left on your face after a dive are mostly eliminated. Equalization is now much easier thanks to the super soft nose pocket.

the camp and it is beautiful. Lots of cute monkeys that were so tame that they came right up to us! We went to reception to find out where we were staying but there was nobody there. We went looking for the guys who we were diving with but they weren’t around. Someone said something about sundowners at Lake Sibiya. I thought we’re diving in the ocean? I guessed that they would be back later. We didn’t don’t know what the plans were, as nobody told us. So we ordered a meal from

the restaurant. I had to tell them what room we were in. I don’t know you idiot, nobody told me! So now we couldn’t order food. Great. I thought catering was included? Not sure, and we didn’t even know whether there were shops around. Nobody told us. Eventually the guys rock
