They just finished a Sabre 34. She was in to have her deck Awlgripped and new non- skid.
Just in is a 37-foot Great Harbor trawler. She needed fiberglass repair work, deck drains, gelcoat, remove swim platform, add a bow thruster and repair cracks in the hull. Once this was complete they were going to spray the hull with Imron.
A Nauset 24 lobster boat is in for some work. She is getting new stringers, deck frames, platform non-skid, and a new Mercruiser big block.
A 16-foot Boston Whaler was in for a new console, wiring and custom hauler for lobstering.

New England Fiberglass in Portland has been real busy this spring and early summer. A 34-foot Contest was in and had her bottom peeled twice to fix 258 blisters. Once peeled they made spot repairs, before
planing the seam around the keel. They then relaminated the entire bottom, put on Interprotectant and painted the bottom. They then removed the Awlgrip on the topsides and painted with Dupont Imron.

A Yamaha Wave Runner was in to repair a hole in her stern. She suffered this damage when she broke free of her mooring. An 18-foot Carolina Skiff was in to have some bottom damaged repaired. A 1971 Boston Whaler was in for paint. A Hunter 36 was in for repair work around her rudder following a grounding. A Pursuit was in for a new windshield, re-cored platform, some fiberglass repairs and gel-coat.
The powder coating end of the business has been doing well. They had an Edson pedestal. A 90-year old fuel tank needs to be stripped before it is coated. Some 1922 bronze head pieces will be stripped, paint polished then clear coat the pieces. Not only do they do boat’s parts and pieces, but they do a lot of motorcycle and car items. Mostly wheels, valve covers and manifolds. The last motorcycle they powder coated a number of parts for a custom bike.

Casey Enterprises in Freeport has just completed work on a 1967 Ensign. She was recently sold and her new owner wanted the varnish redone and bottom painted. Casey rebuilt this boat four or five years ago and it still looks new.
A Cape Dory 36 was in for extensive deck work this winter and spring. She
suffered from some core issues, but mostly crazing. They removed all the hardware, made the necessary repairs, painted and then put back the hardware. They also Awlgripped the topsides and varnished the brightwork.
They also had a lot of spring storage work to do before the season began, which kept them busy.
Now in the shop is the Lowell 38. They will be fairing and Awlgripping the interior and exterior. This will take the summer to complete.
Edgecomb Boat Works in Edgecomb is presently working on a 96 year old Dark Harbor 12½. They are taking her apart and finding that almost everything will have to be replaced. She will be done for next season. A customer from New York brought in a 27-foot Century, which needed a new bottom. This took about six weeks to complete.
A 37-foot Egg Harbor was in to have her bottom repainted.
They are also proceeding on a Jim Taylor design for a 21 to 24 foot fast cold moulded sailboat.
Edgecomb Boat Works is now in the boat hauling business. They have a 20-ton trailer and said they will work with anyone they can tolerate.
Farrin’s Boat in Walpole has two boats in the shop.
The hull in the back shop is a Wayne Beal 40, which is being finished out as a pleasure cruiser for a customer from the West Coast. Down below she is almost done, and they are now working on the systems. This includes hooking up the engine, C-15 850-hp Caterpillar, and some wiring. In the front shop is a Calvin Beal 38, which is being finished out as a cruiser for a California customer. They have just started on this one. The engine (QSM11 Cummins) and drive train are in. Come September 1 they will be on this one full-time. For accommodations she will have a V-berth, guest stateroom, head with shower and galley up.
There are also a couple of repair jobs coming up. One will be getting a bow thruster in a 32-footer they built. They also have another one of their boats coming back for some cabin work.
