‘Tankies’ get mayoral stamp of approval

of the stamps – which show the regiment’s insignia and the Union flag –willgotothe mayor’s charity, Help for Heroes. Although the ‘Tank-

CCTV call after community shop thefts AN appeal has beenmade for a CCTV system after Chart Sutton’s community shop was targeted by thieves on two occasions. A charity box was stolen from the Shop on the Green and an empty till was taken in a break-in. Following the second inci- dent, Maidstone Glass made temporary repairs, and parish Cllr StevenWaring provided a replacement till while the shop group considers other actions. Local borough Cllr Mike Fitzgerald has written to Maidstone Council regarding CCTV, and called for support from police and the community warden. “We need to give confidence to our volunteers,” he said.
