Facts: Plaintiff is large, middle aged male and driver of vehicle that was rear-ended while moving and making a right hand turn into the parking lot of an auto parts supply store in Harford County. Plaintiff ’s vehicle sustained minor prop- erty damage. Plaintiff drove home after the accident, although he went to an ur- gent care facility later, the day of the accident. Plaintiff refused to have surgery, although his treating doctor recom- mended surgery. Three IME’s opined that surgery was not necessary. Plaintiff claimed a continuing wage loss and in- ability to perform his duties as the owner of a construction company despite video,


which showed him performing physical labor.


Allegations of Liability: Defendant con- tended that the Plaintiff made a sudden lane change, causing the accident.


Injuries/Damages: Plaintiff ’s primary complaint was chronic low back pain re- sulting from the accident. Total medical bills were $26,800.00.

Facts: On November 22, 1997, the plain- tiff, Patricia Thomas, was the driver of a Chevrolet Pickup truck stopped at a red light on East-West Highway in Riverdale, MD, when a 1989 Toyota Corolla driven by the defendant, Ambi Ladd, struck the plaintiff ’s vehicle from the rear.


Allegations of Liability: Violation of Maryland Transportation Article, failure to pay full-time and attention to driving.
