For the BCYC, this is the regatta’s 10th anniversary, and in some ways it remains the intimate, clubby event it always was, with about 60 yachts expected, including feeder passages, social gatherings and institutions such as the ‘Je Ne Sais Quoi’ competition.


REGATTA VILLAGE This year, however, there will be much more of interest for the general public, with a ‘regatta village’, featuring music and entertainment, classic cars (on Wednesday and Thursday), trade stands and displays, food and a bar, all


open in the early evening, adjacent to where the boats will be moored at the north end of Cowes Yacht Haven. Classic Boat will also be there and more details will be up on our website closer to the date. On the water, all comers – all classic comers, that is, – are invited to join in the Panerai Classic Round the Island Race, to be run clockwise round the Isle of Wight on the Sunday, 17 July. It’s open to all classics, whether or not they are participating in the main regatta. There’s also the return of the Rally Division, introduced last year, “for owners and crews not inclined towards racing”.
