City Champions elevate launch of CruiseSouthampton.com

City Champion DandG Media has launched CruiseSouthampton. com, the most comprehensive and authoritative information site on Southampton for cruise passengers and crew, and has chosen three other City Champions to support the design, print and launch of the business

A fiercely competitive two-way pitch resulted in Carswell Gould (CG), the south’s award winning creative & design agency, building a dynamic content-rich website that includes a clever range of planning tools, allowing visitors to search, save, print and share. The CG team also incorporated Southampton’s own city branding, DandG Media’s maps of the city and the four cruise terminals into CruiseSouthampton.com’s free online and printed Map & Guides.

Cedar Group, one of the most successful print, design and exhibition companies in the south, managed the format, colour management and print of CruiseSouthampton.com’s free Map & Guides. The Cedar team developed an A4 folded tear-off layout that best suited the environment where these maps would be located. Primarily placed in the magazine stands at the cruise terminals, cruise passengers visit the stands to take complimentary magazines of some of the UK’s top consumer titles including The Lady, T3, BBC Olive and Sunday Times Travel Magazine. The Map & Guides will also be available onboard reception and information points on cruise ships arriving at and departing from Southampton.

And finally, Princess Coaches, one of Southampton’s largest luxury coach hire companies with a fleet of over 15 air- conditioned coaches, and which works with

all the major cruise lines, agreed to promote CruiseSouthampton.com on the side of their coach as well as provide maps and guides of the city to help cruise passengers navigate around Southampton.

Damian Gevertz, managing director of CruiseSouthampton.com, said: ”We have had the most amazing support and ideas from our three key Business Southampton partners.

”Everyone involved has given their 100% to this project; their vision, enthusiasm and understanding of what CruiseSouthampton. com means to the many organisations and businesses in Southampton who will benefit from cruise passengers and crew having one central online source of information on the city and 2011/2012 list of cruise ships into Southampton. The standard of service we received was impeccable and meant we launched on time.”

Sally Lynskey, CEO of Business Southampton said: ”It is great to see so many City Champions choosing to work together locally on what is an excellent marketing tool for the Southampton region. With so many cruise passengers and crew passing through the city every year, this website not only highlights useful information such as the nearest Bureau de Change and terminal locations but also highlights Southampton’s main attractions for these visitors wanting to explore the city.”
