(continued from Raising a Nation, page 13)
What was it that caused the Jews of the worldwide Diaspora, aſter 1,900 years, to suddenly decide in the space of one generation that now was the time to begin the ingathering?
Te Promised Land hadn’t moved. It had been right there for the whole 2,000 years. And the late 19th century didn’t offer political hope for the Jews that the Promised Land would suddenly become Jew friendly.
Te Prophet Jeremiah predicted that the Jews of the Babylonian captivity would be restored aſter 70 years–and the book of Daniel records that prophecy was literally fulfilled under Persian rule.
But there was also a second ingathering prophesied for the Jews of Israel by the Prophet Ezekiel, this one specifically identified by the Prophet as taking place during the “later days” (Ezekiel 38:16).
At that time, said the Prophet, the Jews will again inhabit the land of promise, which the Prophet specifically identi- fies geographically as “the mountains of Israel.”
It is this second ingathering, the one for the later days, that is the most overtly miraculous work of God since the First Advent. Without the existence of a literal, politically viable Jewish State known as “Israel,” none of the prophecies con- cerning the Last Days and the coming judgment of the nations would find any historical context.
But, since there is such a historical entity as Israel, a nation ‘born in a day’ as a Jew- ish State against all the odds, we can know that the events that are unfolding in our lifetime are following a particular script.

Without the
existence of a literal, politically viable Jewish State known as “Israel,” none of the prophecies concerning the Last Days and the coming judgment of the nations would find any historical context.
For 2,500 years, the prophecies for our generation were locked away in a box, by divine decree. According to Daniel 12:4, “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”
Te key that unlocks that box is the exis- tence of the Jewish State of Israel, restored to the Land, and calling upon the Lord in Hebrew. “And He spake to them a par- able; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; when they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God
is nigh at hand. Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.” —Luke 21:29–32
“Who hath seen such things?” When Isa- iah asked that question, and for another 2,500 years aſter that, the answer was, “Nobody.”
Of all those generations, across the ages, only you and I can say that “we hath seen such things.”
“Who hath heard such a thing?” Of all the generations that have ever lived from Isaiah until May 14, 1948—only this generation can answer, “We have.”
And for the first time in 23 centuries, we can hear it in Hebrew.
All Scripture references KJV.
