4 APRIL 2011 Dear Fellow Travellers

some of our readers gained from the floods. It did seem odd to me to postpone time ;-) This issue it so happens that, without any planning on my

It

part, we have articles plotting the whole gamut of human experience with time – an article on healthy eating and lifestyle, especially

in pregnancy, and how it has been shown that babies are affected by their grandparent’s lifestyle (if they went through famine or feast and if they smoked, for instance) – one on parenting, and referring to our past lives affecting

what we needed to know in this life and thus the appropriate parenting style – an article showing that we can heal childhood memories

and ‘stories’ as an adult – two on dying and death – a story about communicating with the dead and what

the afterlife is about – even the drumming article is about time in that it

explains timing of the beat – the two old rockers – you see how time has treated their

lives – and the circus elephant – a metaphor for us all really in

that we allow our patterns to be entrenched with time. The reader round table on ‘time’ is to be found in the

Ripple end of the magazine and all the above articles are to be found in LivingNow. Oh, of course, the astrology article – also in Ripple – treats of time, but that’s the case always. This one is a particularly interesting one as we have moved into another phase (can one have a mini epoch?) where we as a society will change our way of thinking. You need to read Stella’s words directly, but you’ll understand the difference in these various phases if you think of society when we were all power dressing in the 80s compared with when we were all doing frilly aprons and ‘Hi Honey, I’m home!’ in the 40s/50s. I am excited to tell you that we are making this magazine

available as a downloadable e-book on our website too. Read it on your phone – it looks pretty good there, although I say so myself. Something for you to get excited about is that we are

extending the deadline for the prize draws. If you have already entered for a prize you will be advised personally of the changes. In one or two cases, where there is a close at hand event to be drawn, that will still happen, and the prize donor has kindly agreed to donate both that prize and a new one. Please go to our website, www.livingnow.com.au, and click on the little prize box. There are beautiful prizes there from our beautiful advertisers – every prize is from someone who has put their heart and soul into their business, creating a product or a course or an expertise in order to serve Spirit and humanity.

shouldn’t amaze me, but I always get such a kick out of the way that Spirit orchestrates our articles into a theme. We had planned to have our ‘reader round table’ on ‘time’ in the March issue, but held it over to discuss ‘flood’ and the blessings

You will be served by entering the competition – and

maybe you will serve the prize donors too. How? Well, you need to write 20 words (or less) about why you want to win their prize. Just imagine – your words may spark something in the prize donor so that s/he sees the possibility of a new service to offer, or a new way of looking at their business, or they may use your words in their promotion. We all serve each other. Indeed, that’s exactly the point of the article written by

Stephen Wollaston, one of the ‘old rockers’. His words are much more erudite, but put simply, when we create we serve. We’ve been given the gift of creativity (in whatever way it manifests in our lives – not visual arts necessarily but any inventive thinking) for a reason. I think that is the very way we can all get out of the bind

of worrying about the natural disasters. If we get swallowed up by worries we will be no good to anyone. We need to break the malaise, know that Spirit has it all under control, and know that we are meant to serve – and that we can serve by creating and then offering that creation in love to our fellow humans. A fear-frozen spirit cannot create. Chip off the shell, open your heart and allow inspiration to help you create – a cake or a new work schedule, a song or a building, a way to remove fluoride from the water or a prayer for those in trouble – it doesn’t matter – just create and offer it with love. Just this morning I was sent some words on fear from Pam

Carruthers, Healing Stars. She’s a student of Chuck Spezzano, one of my favourite thinkers of our times. “Being off centre means the connection with God/ The Creator/ Higher Mind is lost. The ego invests in fear to keep us stuck. We have huge resistance to taking the next step in our lives – which would bring us success and happiness.” Next issue the reader round table is on enthusiasm.

Although I totally trust Spirit to bring me articles, remember the adage about trusting God AND tethering your camel. So today I get the vibe to ask you if you’d like to submit short pieces for the reader round table or longer articles where enthusiasm is covered as well. Please download the guidelines from our website – under the tab ‘to do’.

With love,
