Reduced parking charges Parking charges at Buller Quay


Car Park, East Looe, have been reduced as part of a restructuring programme.


Looe Harbour Commissioners have agreed to charge £1 for the first hour parking instead of £1.10.


The commissioners are also going to trial a winter overnight parking scheme, which will be in place from November 1, 2011, to February 28, 2012, whereby vehicles will be able to park between the hours of 6pm and 8am for a £1 fee – instead of the current charge of £2.60 between November and the end of March.


Work started recently on a scheme which will include larger parking spaces, modern pay and

display facilities and spaces for the disabled at the car park.


The trees, which commissioners say have suffered from high copper content in the soil, are being replaced with a species selected for their tolerance to coastal conditions and will be planted in specially designed tree pits.


This is to ensure the trees have the best possible chance of survival.


The arrangement was formulated as a result of consultation with the County Forester and a local landscape company.


Following on from this work, Looe Harbour Commissioners will also be resurfacing and realigning its car park at West Looe.
