Here’s three special gardens which you should make a note of trying to visit if you can if you are travelling around this spring or summer


The Dingle Garden, Wales


The Dingle Garden is set in the heart of glorious mid-Wales. The four acre garden is mostly the work of Barbara Joseph who created a secluded and beautiful area that serves to


inspire garden lovers. The garden is south-facing with paths that wind down the slope to a lake and small waterfall. The beds are colour-themed to look good all year.


An acre primrose wood in spring is a special feature. The Dingle Nursery alongside the garden sells a huge variety of rare plants and trees.

Groombridge Place, Kent


There’s history and romance at award-winning Groombridge Place in Kent, a venue that combines a traditional heritage garden with the contemporary landscaping of the ancient woodland. First laid out in 1674, the walled gardens are set against the romantic backdrop of a medieval moat house They include herbaceous borders, an exquisite white rose garden, a secret garden, knot garden, nut walk, paradise walk and oriental garden plus the sunken garden. In the woodland of the “Enchanted Forest” there are mysterious gardens by designer Ivan Hicks.

Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh


Established in 1670, the 70-acre Royal Botanic Garden is a centre of horticultural excellence. The Botanics captures the imagination of everyone who visits and is world renowned for its horticultural excellence of beautifully landscaped grounds provide a tranquil haven just one mile from the city


centre. Don’t miss the world-famous Rock Garden or the tallest palm house in Britain.
