We have changed show schedule to Saturday evening Arabian Classes and Sunday Open performance classes, to allow folks from out of town to get to the arena, take their time settling in, time to prac- tice in the arena and get ready for evening classes. As an added bonus, we have a Halter clinic scheduled for Saturday afternoon with Jerry Buell so you can hone your halter skills

We had a dis- play of articles from years past. Michael had several of Elton’s hats he put out. He always wore a hat or cap that everyone seemed to identify with him. father of daughter Alexa. We have watched John at the shows working as a part of the family team to support Alexa and De- nise as they show their horses. They live in Spring Branch and have their own stable. After showing and winning many honors in the show ring, De- nise spends time working with their horses and being there for Alexa. We have watched Alexa over the years riding their horses and showing. All of the hard work, practice and dedication showing her horses paid off. Alexa won National Championships in the US as well as Canada last year. At the shows, John can be found carrying a brush, grooming at the last minute and supporting Alexa all the way to the ring. John Nichols has
just been promoted to MAJOR GENERAL. He is assigned as the Assistant Adjutant General. Air, Texas National Guard and Commander Texas National Guard. He is a Graduate of the Air Force Academy and is a pi- lot with over 4.400 Flight Hours. Space limits us from listing all of his accomplishments, awards and decorations earned from May 1979 as a Second Lt. to the rank of Major General. What an honor. Most of us know John as a Horse Show Dad supporting Alexa as she shows her horses. Regardless of rank, watching his multi talented young daughter perform is about as good as it gets.
