Toronto CADORA Youth 2010 Bursary Winner

The TC Youth Com- mittee is pleased to announce Elizabeth Aslin as the winner of the 2010 TC Youth Bursary Award, sponsored by Equestrian Factory Outlet!
Elizabeth has been an
avid supporter and volunteer for TC Youth since the program was launched in November 2009. “Elizabeth showed her dedication to our program by attending all of our TC Youth events and was never shy about lending a helping hand,” says TC Youth Chair Andrea Wetzel. “I have had the hon- our of knowing Elizabeth for over a year now and she definitely encompasses all of the traits, and then some, of what TC Youth stands for.” “I’m thrilled and truly honoured to be chosen for the first TC Youth bursary award,” noted Eliz- abeth. “I would like to thank Toronto CADORA for their dedication to the sport of dressage and Equestrian Factory Outlet for their support and sponsorship.”
Elizabeth was presented her award on November 20, 2010 at the Toronto CADORA Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet, where she received a $250 cheque; a $200 gift certificate for Equestrian Facto- ry Outlet; a perpetual trophy; and a job shadow with a Toronto CADORA or Caledon Dressage coach.

TC Youth ~ New Developmental Dressage Youth Program in the Greater Toronto Area

TC Youth, a division of Toronto CADORA, was launched in November 2009 as a develop- mental program geared towards helping junior and young riders achieve their dressage dreams. The program has been established to provide affordable education opportunities geared to the specific needs of the youth in the sport and pro- moting a spirit of discipline, confidence at home and in the show ring, achievement beyond compe- tition, volunteerism, work ethic, community and self-respect.

TC Youth in the Spotlight has been developed to award one deserving youth for their outstanding contribution to the dressage community through volunteer work at all Toronto CADORA events, their own accomplishments and successes and overall exceptional attitude.
The benefit of the TC Youth program to the young rider is that they are assisted in becoming well-rounded horse people, able to grow in a sport that they love while learning the importance of contributing to the sport in the process. The TC Youth Bursary Award has been developed to encourage youth involvement in clinics, volunteering and other aspects of the dis- cipline of dressage and to develop character build- ing in all aspects of their lives. This award will be given to one outstanding youth member per year who demonstrates dedication and commitment to her/his development in the sport.
