and Dreama, Jeff and Tammy, John and Robin, and Alan and me. Gifts were exchanged, and the gift that keeps on giving year after year showed up again as well. Those who came had a great time. This year I hope to see more of you come out so that we can meet and get to know all of you.

CHILI WEATHER Though your new board has

yet to meet to work up a riding schedule for the year, we can look forward to the ride that be- gins the Utah riding season, the annual Polar Bear Ride. BMW of Salt Lake will be hosting the Polar Bear and providing the be- ginning venue. To kick off the season BMW has invited us to join them for their Chili Cook-off on January 22nd at their dealer- ship. It sounds like great fun, and it would be nice if we came out in sufficient numbers to sup- port their cause.

The event is to benefit the

“For My Momma Cancer Photog- raphy Project.” They would like to give us an opportunity to get involved. This project is a charity that provides cancer patients and their families the opportunity to work with a professional photog- rapher at no expense to them, to help them capture a moment in time, so they can hold onto that memory in their hearts forever.

They are a national, non-

profit organization that works hand-in-hand with organizations like the Huntsman Cancer Insti- tute, and the American Child- hood Cancer Organization. This program offers FREE profession- al family portraits to Cancer families that are fighting for

During the event they will be

NEW BOARD Your newly elected officers for

2011 have been chosen by a ma- jority of the club membership. Congratulations go out to all of you! Your willingness to serve is greatly appreciated. Members, let’s all get behind those who lead us and lend them our sup- port. It’s the least we can do in appreciation for all the time and effort they invest in this club. Ideally, I’d like to see more mem- bers toss their names into the mix. New blood and new ideas are healthy for the club, and serving the club in an official ca- pacity makes for a more caring and interactive member.

frankly, reluctant for several rea- sons, all of which I will not artic- ulate here. Ultimately, I tossed my hat into the ring, without re- gret now as I look back on the past two years. Whereas before I felt somewhat disconnected, now I feel right at home as an inte- gral part of the Blue Knights Utah IV. It has been a pleasure to serve as your VP and am look- ing forward to another two-year term. Thanks all.

MEMBER PICS With the addition of producing

a chapter newsletter this year, and as the editor of same, I would like to encourage those with a penchant for shutter- bugging to share your ride pics with the rest of the club in the newsletter. If you would like to see your photos in print, they must be at least 100 KB or more. Preferably more. When I convert your particular camera’s file for- mat to a JPG format some of the resolution may be diminished, so I need a little room in which to play with your images. Also, I can’t stress enough the im- portance of meeting the deadline for each respective quarter

As an example, if you have

taken some photos of a particular club event in July, and you want them to accompany the associat- ed event, you must get your sub- missions to me by no later than the 25th day of the last month of the Quarter in which the event takes place for inclusion in the next quarter’s newsletter, which would be September. Of course, I can’t print every photo you send for a number of reasons, but I’ll do what I can...given space limi- tations and photo quality.
