NPA Names New President The National Parking Association


has named Christine Banning, MA, CAE, president, effective Oct. 4. As president of NPA, Banning will man- age the day-to-day operations and over- see strategic planning for the interna- tional organization, which provides advocacy, networking, and educational


resources for its members. Banning replaces John L. Fiegel, CAE, who was named interim president in January. Banning joins NPA from the


SCORE Association, where she most recently served as the vice president of Marketing and Communications. She brings 15 years of senior management


experience encompassing strategic planning,member outreach andmar- keting in a membership association. Earlier, she served as the vice presi- dent of corporate relations and direc- tor of public information for SCORE, a nonprofit association with 12,400 members and more than 350,000 public clients across 364 offices nationwide. “I look forward to collaborating

She added, “Together, we will continue to raise the industry’s profile, embrace tech- nology and enhance the services and professional development available to our members.” Banning earned an undergradu-


ate degree from Marietta College, Marietta, Ohio, and a master’s degree fromTheAmerican Universi- ty,Washington, D.C. She is a Certi- fied Association Executive (CAE) and member of the American Socie- ty of Association Executives (ASAE). Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors of Dress for Suc- cess, Washington, D.C., where she chairs the nominating committee.
