instrumental playing at the moment and whatever develops from that will be under the heading of JH. So far it is my first solo album ‘Time Past’ which is set for release in early2011. I am also working on an album of Banjo playing which I hope to record in 2011. Tis is an important album to me as I started on Banjo and even so have never done a good recording of my playing. I have a lot of ideas for this one and I am excited about the way it is shaping up... I have the outline and general arrangements done and am ready to go to studio in early 2011. Tis is an exciting time for me... my young son from my marriage is not so young anymore, young though (in case he’s reading this :-) ) is now a musician and songwriter himself [
www.myspace.com/johnhoganjr] and plays guitar banjo percussion and is a great singer, if I do say so myself :-) Ah ya, I’m very proud of him! It’s fantastic now though as he plays on my recordings and we do some gigs together. I love percussion on my recordings and the banjo album and next song album will feature John (Seán Óg as he is called now) a lot. I’ve always gotten a great feeling from writing songs. On a personal level I find it very therapeutic along with fulfill- ing.... it is exciting to see a song go from an idea to being a finished song.. perform it for friends... at gigs... get reac- tions and so on... I really can say that I do love the whole buzz! So I don’t intend on stopping any time soon and hope to write and record many more albums. My cur- rent album ‘Times Past’ is actually what should have been my first album a long time ago. I’m taking a bit of an odd approach to my solo career in a kind of retro way, as in I am recording my songs as they were written... by era... and will have to play catch-up to get up to being current. A bit weird I suppose but I did say that we songwriters are a strange bunch... I don’t think any of them would disagree! I have created a Website and Myspace, Facebook, & Twit- ter Pages to promote my music. Tey are about the music I am creating currently which is My Songwriting & Instru- ment playing. I am kicking off with my new album ‘Times Past’, which is about to be released. My Website also has information about other stuff including Learning Music, Instruments, Te fastest Scale Competition (for fun!), and an archive of previous work I have done and bands that I have played with. I also have a profile on Breaking Tunes and Artlinks.
