Total Joint Replacement Preparation for Surgery
Jan.10, 12, 24, 25 and 26 Attend this total joint replace-
ment pre-surgical orientation and learn about joint replacement of the hip or knee. Topics covered include preparing for the proce- dure, the surgical experience and rehabilitation after surgery, as well as planning for discharge. The patient must be scheduled for surgery at a Virtua facility. The class meets at Virtua Marlton, 90 Brick Road, Marlton, on Jan. 10 and on 24 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Paramedic Affiliate
Wednesday, Jan. 26 This is a hands-on class that will make you more familiar with what the paramedic does and how you can help. The class is offered from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at 523 Fel- lowship Road, Mount Laurel. Completion of this course is re- quired to qualify for a 6-hour ride- along with a medic unit. Course fee is $40.
Sports Medicine Symposium
Friday, Jan. 7 Topics include ACL injuries in female athletes, the female athlete triad, and differences between fe- male vs. male training. The pro- gram will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Virtua’s Barry D. Brown Health Education Center, 106 Carnie Blvd. Cost is $50 per person and includes breakfast and lunch.
