Welcome to the Greater Palm Springs Pride 2010 This year’s parade and festival will be our community’s 24th
annual pride celebration. Our theme this year is “Stand Up. Stand Out. Stand Proud!” The theme calls on the
community to “Stand Up” and be a part of the process, “Stand Out” and let your voice be heard and “Stand Proud” for who we are as a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
The theme is a call to action for each of us. The selection was made on the eve of U.S. District Chief Judge Vaughn R. Walker’s ruling that upended California’s same-sex marriage ban and the subsequent 9th Circuit Court of Appeals action putting gay marriage on hold indefi nitely. The theme is intended to evoke a spirit of activism that rests in each one of us.
Enjoy the 2010 pride celebration and our freedom of self-expression. Please remember and honor those who have courageously fought for equality and are no longer with us. Gather your friends and join us and together we will celebrate our diversity and advance the cause of individual freedom for all.

As always, we trust that while celebrating you will party safely and have a chance to enjoy all the talents, gifts, and resources our community and our beautiful valley have to off er.

Palm Springs Pride represents the interest of the Greater Palm Springs community as a member and supporter of the Desert Business Association, the Golden Rainbow - SAGE, Consolidated Associations of Pride, Inc. (CAPI), the International Association of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride Coordinators (InterPride), the Inter- national Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA), the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the American Civil Lib- erties Union, and Equality California.
