The Legacy Awards Perserving our LGBT film history is an important cause that is being
enforced by The Outfest Legacy Project for LGBT Film Preservation. The fifth annual Legacy Awards will honor those in the industry who represent the best of gay cinema and the best in supporting our film history. The gala will be held at the Directors Guild of America on Thursday, October 21. There will be a pre-party beginning at 7:00 P.M., the Award Ceremony at 8:00 P.M. and an after-party starting at 9:30 P.M. The Visionary Award is being presented to writer, director and producer, Roland Emmerich and their Guardian Award to the Fox Entertainment Group. LA Femme Film Festival Focusing on women filmmakers’ and their desire to have an equal opportu-
nity workplace in the film business, the LA Femme Film Festival will take place this year on October 14 through October 17 at the Rennberg Theatre at 1125 N. McCadden Place in Hollywood. Celebrate the films, and work of women who have created cinema as directors, writers and producers in the industry. Feast your eyes on some of the most outrageous, daring and beautiful drag queens to hit the runway. “Best In Drag” Show takes the stage of The Orpheum Theatre on Sunday, October 24. There is a pre-show cocktail party beginning at 5:30 P.M. and the actual contest begins at 7:00 P.M. This beauty pageant fun- draiser gives 100 percent of all money raised to Aid For AIDS. Contestants strut their stuff for “top dog” title in front of celebrity judges and there will be lots of music, dancing, comedy and serious “drag” emoting. The Orpheum Theatre is located at 842 S.
