Tecan is a sub-contract manufacturer of metal precision parts and apertures. A range of innovative, photolithography-based technologies enables highly accurate, burr and stress free production.
Photo chemical machining, or ‘photo etching’, is a subtractive process that selectively removes metal by chemical action. Using ‘soft’ tooling directly plotted from CAD on to film, photo etching is an extremely precise and cost- effective process that facilitates the production of a wide range of burr and stress-free parts in virtually any metal.
Tecan uses advanced photo-electroforming techniques (also known as UV LIGA) in a class 6 cleanroom. Electroforming is used to manufacture multi-level components and apertures – with sub-micron feature sizes and tolerances possible. Micro-parts, filters, masks and embossing tools are all manufactured to extreme levels of accuracy.
Tecan has an in-house purpose-built metal finishing facility offering a wide range of standard and bespoke finishes.
