The gardens at Trebah lead down to a secluded and private beach
azaleas and rhododendrons, selected for their fragrance, have been planted on the ravine sides to stunning effect.
There is a play area and trails for children plus use of the private beach. There is much here for the whole family whether you are enthralled by the diverse planting, require unusual subjects for paintings or simply wish to enjoy a day out with the family.
Location: Mawnan Smith, Nr Falmouth, Cornwall TR11 5JZ. Four miles SW of Falmouth. Follow tourist signs from Hillhead roundabout on A39 approach to Falmouth or Treliever Cross roundabout on junction of A39-A394.
Open: Open all year. The garden opens every day at 10am and closes at 5pm. The last entry to the garden is at 4.30pm.
Admission: £7.50 (Mar-Oct), children £2.50, concessions £6.50. There is a coffee shop, gift shop and plant sales. The paths are steep in places. Two motorised vehicles are available, please book in advance. There is also a children’s play area, trails and workshops to keep them entertained. Dogs allowed in several parts of the garden if on a lead.

Caervallack
An ‘English’ garden arranged into rooms, the collaboration between an artist and an architect. Colour and form of plants against contemporary cob walls and Grade II listed farmhouse, along with a 54ft timber and wire bridge and mature orchard, field and meditation studio can all be found here. Roses are a speciality in this garden.
Location: St Martin, Helston, Cornwall TR12 6DF. Five miles south east of Helston. Go through Mawgan village, over two bridges, past Gear Farm shop. The garden is next to the farmhouse on the left.
Open: Sun 20th June 2pm – 5pm.
Admission: £3.50, children free. Cream teas are available. No dogs.
Boscastle Gardens Gardens in this group: Half Acre, Wildwood
Boscastle Harbour is well-known to visitors. These two gardens are in the older part of village overlooking cliff, land and sea.
Half Acre: sculpture in an acre of 3 gardens: Cottage, small wood, the Blue Circle garden which is constructed in colour concrete with coastal planting. Studio will be open.
Wildwood: a garden of magic deception. Front traditional, rear – lawns leading to a wood with pond, tree ferns and shade-loving shrubs.
Location: Boscastle Gardens, Cornwall PL35 0BJ. Five miles north of Camelford. Park in doctor’s surgery car park at top of village which is clearly signed.
Open: Sat 19th and Sun 20th June, 1.30pm – 5.30pm.
Admission: Combined £3, children free. Home made teas at Half Acre. There is limited parking for disabled visitors at both gardens. Refreshments are available. A garden paintings exhibition will be held at Half Acre. No dogs.
