Seriously,

Naples?
Hello winter, nice to see you again. The weather this time
of the year in South Florida is on most days comparable to see-
ing the Rolling Stones play a set with Kings of Leon, it rocks!
Our whole area lights up and is bustling with people spending
money. One staple of the winter season that gets people talking
year after year is the Winter Wine Festival where the rich spend
and sip all in the name of charity. Another thing that happens
year after year is the whining (pun totally intended) by hard-
working folks about the decadence and extravagance of such an
event.
Seriously, Naples? Are you really complaining about
wealthy people spending their wealth? Let's just for one
moment take out the fact that the event is for CHARITY. For
kids, ya know? Let's focus on the fact that multi-millionaires are
flocking to our area to spend their dollars here. Then there are
the multi-millionaires who live here, pay taxes on their million-
dollar-plus homes, buy gas locally for their Bentleys, and eat at
our restaurants. They need landscapers, housekeepers and
chefs, right? I would never cut my grass, do my laundry or cook
again if I hit the lotto!
My point is that Naples thrives on those well-to-do people
that you might be so quick to judge. If you woke up tomorrow
with $50,000,000 sitting in your bank account, I highly doubt that
you wouldn't do something extravagant or decadent just
because you could!
