This week’s Hero of the Week are the county’s employees who drive
the salt/brine truckers and snow scrappers which keep area roads safe
during wintry weather. Snow showers continued off and on through
much of Monday (Jan. 19) and Tuesday (Jan. 20), but even though
schools were cancelled, many still easily commuted to their jobs and
other activities. No major accidents were reported in the North Bun-
combe area. A good portion of that credit falls on the drivers who work
long hours to keep roads passable for everyone else. It is the reason this
group of men and women are this week’s Hero of the Week.
