showing in a conference meet Friday
(Jan. 9).
The boys’ team placed first against

all very dedicated, and I can count
on them to give their best at each
competition.”
The 2008-2009 team is the largest
in school history, with 22 girls and
11 boys on the team. Ballard believes
the sport’s increased presence on a
national scale, thanks to Michael
Phelps’s heroics at this past summer’s
Olympics, is partly due for the large
number of participants.
The girls’ team is comprised of
