I recently was listening to an interview on NPR with Jane
Goodall, who is famous for her work with chimpanzees,
as well as her environmental and humanitarian efforts. A
13-year-old girl called in to the show and was so in awe
of speaking to her hero. She was very excited to learn
about Goodall’s Roots and Shoots program, which con-
nects young people who have a common desire to make
the world a better place. I have no doubt that this girl
will be launching the program in her area. I felt honored

girl always will remember as having an impact on her life. I can clearly envision

When I was about this girl’s age, I read a book about Dr. Robert Peter Gale,
