“Every morning we have
a ‘Meet The Farmer’ pro-
gram,” Diego said. “All
the kids get an opportu-
nity to come down and
see the miniature don-
keys, goats, sheep, llama
and pigs.”
This is all part of the
complimentary Kids Pro-
gram that runs through
the summer months, that
all guests at the Moun-
tain View Grand can take
advantage of. This and
other activities, geared
towards family, are what
make the Mountain View
Grand unique.
The term “Grand Ho-
tel” has a tendency to
bring the word “elitist” to
people’s minds but the
Mountain View Grand
is definitely breaking
through that stereotype.
“We have things here
like ‘chicken bowling,’”
said Diego. “We use a
frozen chicken and hold
the event on our ice skat-
ing rink. We do the Card-
board Regatta in the sum-
mer where teams build a
cardboard boat and race
it in the pool.”
The Mountain View Grand Resort in Whitefield opened in 1866 as a small, modest farmhouse owned by the Dodge Family.
