Focus On: The Creston Valley
The Creston Valley
extends from the
southern tip of Kootenay
Lake, B.C.’s third largest
natural lake, down to the
Idaho border. Creston is
fortunate to have a mild
climate similar to the
Okanagan with average
January temperatures
of 25ºF/-2ºC, and
July temperatures of
73ºF/23ºC. An elevation
of 1,958’ and a prairie
town atmosphere in a mountain
setting makes Creston the “Fruit
Basket of the Kootenay’s”. The
temperature is ideal for cherries,
asparagus, apples, berries and
many more delicious fruits and
veggies which can be purchased
at the local Saturday market or
one of the many fruit stands.
