Have your say
Activity on the members’ forum (www.ied.org.uk/public/
forum_intro.php) has increased but it still relies on your
participation to make it a success. The forum is a valuable
resource which allows members to network, discuss
the latest engineering design topics, exchange ideas,
post questions and catch up with what’s going on in the
industry. If you have lost your log-in details, please email
Marilyn Hyde at
marilyn@ied.org.uk.
The IED were very pleased to have a stand at the PDM exhibition, held at
Telford International Centre in May. Thank you to all members who came
along to say ‘hello’ and particularly to Ken Kempson, an IED member who
volunteered to man the IED stand for the duration of the event.
Thanks also to Advanced Composites, who loaned us the bike
developed for the outstandingly successful Olympic cycling team for use
at Beijing in 2008. Ken is pictured with the bike, which attracted lots of
attention from designers working in plastics and moulding.
