Leading British watercolour artist hazel Soan
divides her time between London and Cape
town. She creates much of her award-
winning artwork in a glorious sunlit studio in
South Africa, a world away from the more
muted light of venice and London that she
paints in such affectionate detail. while she
relishes the warmth and light of her studio
location, she still cherishes her love of these
romantic european cities.

for her role as an Art expert on channel 4’s
popular daytime programme, watercolour

highly-regarded books on painting. hazel’s
