Located mid-island, Palmetto Dunes was recently named by Conde Nast Traveler magazine as one of the Top 50 Resorts in the U.S. It offers guests convenient access to uncrowded beaches, three championship golf courses, world-renowned tennis, and a 11-mile lagoon system where guests can kayak, canoe and fish in the peaceful waters. Miles of leisure paths - for walking, jogging, roller blading and biking - weave through the resort. Palmetto Dunes also features Shelter Cove Marina on Broad Creek and summertime HarbourFest, which features arts and crafts, live entertainment, and a spectacular fireworks display over the marina. Both the “beachside” of Palmetto Dunes, and the “creekside” offer a variety of wonderful restaurants and shops. The Shelter Cove Mall and Arts Center of Coastal Carolina are nearby. The Dunes Buggy runs during the vacation season and makes regular stops at The Dunes House, Mall at Shelter Cove, Shelter Cove Harbour, Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center and Plaza at Shelter Cove.
