The Assist Asbestos Removal Process:
On Site Visit: Dependant on job type a site visit may be recommended to ascertain the full extent of the project to allow an accu- rate quote to be made.
Method Statement also known as The Plan of Work: Highlighting each stage with the processes to be used. Method statements vary job to job depending on circum- stances and practical aspects that can only be determined on site.
Risk Assessments: What risks are associated to the project taking into account the condition and type of asbestos, location restrictions, client specifications and site conditions.
HSE Notification (14 days): Legal documentation is submitted to notify the HSE of removal work to be carried out.
Emergency Situations: In these instances, e.g. Fire or flood damage, we would request a waiver for the 14 days.
Air Test/Monitoring: This is always conducted by an independent contractor to ensure impartiality. Work areas are only signed off when they clear of asbestos materials.
Disposal: This is always done within the Environmental Agency’s regulations for the disposal of hazardous waste.
Assist own and uses only modern and high spec equipment e.g. decontamination units, safe strip systems, negative pressure units and mobile scaffolding. All materials used are of the highest quality. There is always a good stock of material held in storage enabling Assist to respond to jobs of all size and complexity at short notice where required. There are no unnecessary time delays waiting for delivery of goods and materials.
