air distribution with aesthetics and they are fully compliant in environments where security and safety are paramount,” says Rick Edmondson, Chairman of Waterloo. The grilles were developed in

conjunction with the prison service, to supply and extract air for low, medium and high risk situations where security is a fundamental concern. They are suitable for any building with detention facilities and other buildings of confinement where tamper‐proof features are essential. Matreya Southgate, Product

Development Manager, explains. “Ventilation is an essential requirement in detention cells. Section 14 of The Prison Act 1952 requires cells to provide ventilation that is adequate for good health. Regular air changes are needed within these confined spaces, to meet the demands of Section 14. Air distribution grilles in these environments need to be multiple‐functional. They must be securely fixed and tamper proof to prevent prisoners escaping through ductwork or using them as instruments to either self‐ harm or injure others, whilst still distributing air efficiently throughout the building.” Waterloo’s security grilles have anti‐

vandal and anti‐ligature features. They comply with the Ministry of Justice Prison Service specifications and the Home Office Police Custody Design Guide (HOPDG). The grilles are manufactured as standard from 3mm thick mild steel plate and are suitable to be either wall or ceiling mounted. Each

Marketing Director for Hamworthy Heating said: “The Wessex ModuMax boiler has been our bestselling boiler for many years. In the improvements to the range we have responded to market demand and customer feedback to add in new features that make the boiler the best product for future commercial heating specifications.” Drawing on Hamworthy’s

experience in manufacturing modular boilers, this vertically stacking boiler offers close load matching and sits on a very small footprint. The ability of the boiler to operate up to 40°C differential temperatures helps to maximise the condensing performance and assists in designing heat networks – a top priority for the government to help meet energy efficiency targets.

The new built in Siemens

amworthy Heating has improved on an icon with their latest British

controls control of up to 16 boiler modules in a master/slave configuration, removing the need for separate controls or building management systems in smaller applications. All this is wrapped up with a 10‐year heat exchanger warranty for peace of mind. Keith added: “Although the look of the boiler has changed it has retained the benefits of this well‐ loved boiler range. Plus, we’ve included all the new features at no extra cost to our customers. We want to provide a product that suits the changing landscape of the commercial heating industry as well as long term stability and support from a British manufacturer.” The new Wessex ModuMax mk3 boiler also now features an air inlet filter to keep combustion air and burner free of dirt particles and speed up service and maintenance of the boiler. It is all housed in a new robust steel casing with an easy to remove front cover. The Wessex ModuMax mk3 is a

stainless steel high efficiency, fully modulating condensing pre‐mix floor standing boiler. Available in 5 modules with outputs (@80/60°C) of 97, 116, 147, 196 and 254kW. Individual boiler modules can be stacked one, two or three high in up to 15 combinations.
