FIVE TEN Booths 530 and 531 Built off of Five Ten’s Kestrel platform, the Kestrel Lace shoe is de- signed to transfer power to the pedals as efficient- ly as possible. The upper is a PU film-coated synthetic mesh for weatherproofing, with snug lace and Velcro closures. The shank is made of nylon, making it about 15 percent less stiff than the Kestrel, while an EVA midsole provides shock absorption. Men’s and women’s versions are available in two colorways each. HOPE TECHNOLOGY Booth 586 Hope’s 11-speed wide-range cassettes have seven sprockets (10-24T) machined from a single stainless steel billet that is heat treated. The four largest sprockets (28-40T or 28-44T) are machined from a single billet of aluminum that is hard anodized. The cassette fits onto a specially made freehub that is machined slightly shorter to accommodate the 10T sprocket and Hope is producing freehubs to suit its new Pro 4 as well as the older Pro 2 EVO hubs.
