MSC’s new UK boss vows to increase market share

MSC Cruises’ new UK boss is looking to boost the line’s market share by investing “more money, time and effort”.
Antonio Paradiso, who takes
over officially as UK managing director this week, would not reveal full details of his plans but said he was aiming to make it easier for agents to work with MSC. He said he was looking at “enhancements” to MSC’s booking platform and groups policy, and that announcements would be made in the coming weeks. Paradiso has worked for MSC
since 2008, most recently as executive director of emerging markets, looking after 40 countries across Asia, the Middle East and northern Africa. He replaces Giles Hawke, who is moving to become chief executive of Cosmos Tours. Paradiso pledged the line would
invest more “money, time and effort” in the UK than ever before.

in the pipeline, which will take its capacity from 1.7 million at present to a projected 3.3 million. Paradiso said he was “doing his homework” with a view to pushing
for a ship to sail from the UK.
